Eight students, across the UK hoping to become the next NICEIC and ELECSA Apprentice of the Year, including our very own Josh Broniman.
(Coleg Sirgar / D J Hoyland Electrical ) student (Josh Broniman) has made it through to the Grand Final of this year’s NICEIC and ELECSA Apprentice of the Year competition. (Josh age 18) will battle it out with seven other finalists during a series of practical tests at the headquarters of competition sponsor Scolmore on June 6. Quote from Darren Hoyland, Employer: “Myself and the rest of the team are really pleased for Josh, he has worked really hard and I personally knew he would do really well, Congratulations Josh and Good Luck on 6th June, we will be with you all the way.” More than 400 young men and women entered this year’s competition which was open to all level 3 students.
The finalists have had to battle through two stages of the contest, which began back in November last year. The first stage of the contest was an online exam comprising of a variety of questions relating to electrical installations. The top 20% performing students then progressed to stage 2 – a written 1 1⁄2 hour exam held at six locations across the UK.
